This my 3 visit with Bright Now Dental. My first visit was great lots of smiles until I discovered they don’t do a simple root canal… so I had to shop around for a orthodontist. My second visit involved placing a plug in my tooth and matching the tooth in color. Well I mentioned the miss during my third visit. The cleaning by Lauri was great… talking about the miss on the color got me thinking did I get assigned another low rated services from our wonderful government through Medicare!? The miss was they did the post root canal plug and he forgot to do the color venier. But I have had worse while in the service - Navy.
Most unprofessional dental office I've ever dealt with IN MY LIFE! They got me in for a first appointment back in May and then had me scheduled for a cleaning a mint or two later. The day before that appointment, they text me to let me know my appointment was canceled due to staff shortage? They rescheduled me for several months later in September and then today (again, THE DAY BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT) they text me to let ke know there is a problem with insurance that I need to fix or they can't bill my insurance EVEN THOUGH they had no problems the same insurance after my first visit with no issues. Don't ever go here and just let them go out of business because they clearly don't know how to run things here
Everyone at bright now are amazing! The staff is helpful and experienced, they genuinely care about you and treat you like a human being. My teeth are terrible after years of neglect, Dr. Kok didnt berate me or make me feel bad like other dentists, he looked at me with understanding and patience. Im am only rating 4 stars, however, beacuse as awesome as they are, they have appointments crammed together all day. I went in for an exam and waited 20 min for the Dr. to arrive, he was there all of 20 min and then had to move to the next patient. There was no room for questions or, well, error either. But overall you guys are doing awesome!
The care I received was superb! I was met with patience and understanding. I greatly appreciated the dentist, tech, & hygienist explaining the various procedures, as well as why they were being recommended. A member of front desk staff seemed quite short with other members of staff, at one point telling the hygienist to make a copy of something (not asking them; handing them a paper and saying "Copy this."). It seemed quite rude, especially as I'm sure it's falls nowhere in the hygienist's job description. Please go digital for paperwork & prescriptions. It's 2024. There're no reasons folks should have to fill out paperwork by hand, especially since 90% of the info is provided during online appointment creation.
absolutely horrible communication between staff and patients. Made an appointment three weeks+ prior. We went in to my sons appointment and the extremely rude receptionist said she called us two weeks prior to tell us our appointment was canceled due to the dentist being on vacation. Which was not true or I wouldn’t have taken the day off work, taken my son out of school and driven that far. Made another appointment, waited a week, called the day before to verify my appointment. Just received a call hour before my son’s appointment that the appointment was canceled due to “the insurance not accepted and they wouldn’t get paid for it” which is just honestly nothing less than absolutely ridiculous as the receptionist verified our insurance (also filled out the insurance information emailed to me weeks before) when we were in the office the same day as we were told the dentist was out of town. Kind of glad now that the appointment was canceled because I can imagine the dental services would be as horrible as the staff’s ability to communicate to patients.
This place seems to have either a 5 star or a 1 start rating. Gave it a go since it's so close to my office. Waited an hour for my appt to begin. Had to ask the receptionist to confirm my chart was given to the back staff since I watched 5 people get called up before me that arrived after me. When I was finally called back, woman complained about menopause sweats, being behind on packaging impressions because she didn't want to stay late last Friday, and disappeared for 4 minutes to look for a hair tie while I sat in the xray chair, which she found in the trash can where she had discarded her gloves from her wrist last and proceeded to touch the xray items that went into my mouth. The dentist himself (Alistair Kok) and his assistant (Kelly?) were actually wonderful. He was attentive enough to recommend that I delay a filling until my aligners are finished to avoid them not fitting. His assistant then broke the news to me that apparently new patient appts DO NOT INCLUDE THE CLEANING. She was very, very apologetic and admitted that it's misleading of BrightNow to not clearly communicate this. I was then led back to the lobby to wait to be called up again. I listened to the receptionist make several phone calls that didn't seem to take priority over a customer who was already delayed an hour physically in the office. I finally get called up only to be scheduled for the cleaning (insurance covered $ so I wasn't waiting to pay/check out) was told the system is down and they would call me later to schedule. I did receive the "apologies for the wait" & "thank you for your patience" etiquette but it definitely didn't feel sincere. I ended up calling Sparrow in Sherwood. They confirmed they do cleanings with new patient appointments and that they would reach out to BrightNow to collect the xrays so that I didn't have to repeat that part. All in all, the equipment was very outdated, the office was dirty and I have a sense that the chain places like this probably have high turnover in staff so it's most likely a lottery win when you get that 5 star experience. However, I used to go to New Smiles chain before they stopped taking UHC and I never had one complaint there.
The dentist I had did an excellent job, was very thorough and was concerned about doing the best job he could manage managing the pain. I highly recommend this office for all dental work.
