I have had a lot of terrible dental experiences but not at Peterson dentistry at Brea Dental group. The staff is so nice and caring. The facility is very clean and welcoming. Dr. Peterson is extremely friendly and does great comfortable work. He explains his procedures well and does not push unnecessary work.

I decided on Brea Dental Group based on Yelp reviews and looking at their website. So glad I decided on BDG! I’ve visited with them twice and they have been so great. I am terrified of the dentist, so much so I hadn’t been in awhile. The staff is very friendly and caring! I never felt judged during my consultation. I had my first cleaning yesterday and they made me feel relaxed and explained what they were doing the whole time! Thank you BDG for helping me!

I visited the office on 6/25 for a new patient exam and cleaning for my daughter and I. When we arrived, they said that they had forgotten to send us the documents to fill out ahead of our visit so we filled them out. After being seen, I was informed that my daughter required 3 fillings and had tooth decay and that I required a deep cleaning and periodontal treatment. They told us that they couldn't perform the cleanings for my daughter or myself after all and showed us out. I asked if the doctor had educated my daughter about tooth decay and they assured me that he had. When asking my daughter about the tooth decay, she said that she overheard the doctor tell the assistant that she had tooth decay and that he didn't speak to her at all about anything. Thankfully my sister is a doctor and educated us about tooth decay being contagious and a serious condition. I considered going to another dentist because of this but then decided to just go with this dentist because I didn't want to wait for treatment. I returned on 7/23 to have our work completed and was given more documents to sign that indicated alternative treatments that I wasn't aware of. I asked the assistant if I could speak with a doctor as I hadn't heard of some of the things listed on the paperwork and she snapped at me that everything had been explained by Debbie. I told her that the alternative treatments had not been discussed and that we had discussed costs and periodontal treatment only. She said that she could answer my questions then so I asked her to explain the gum surgery listed and she waited for a while before telling me that I'd need to speak with the doctor ( as I knew and had originally asked but she snapped at me for). I waited to speak with the doctor and when the hygienist called my daughter, I asked her to wait and she stared me down and asked why. I told her that I wanted to speak with the doctor and she stood there glaring at me before rushing over to the front desk and loudly making disparaging remarks about me in front of my daughter. I waited for the doctor and as calmly and politely as I could muster, I explained all of the above to him. I explained to him that I must have been spoiled by my previous doctor because they had always educated us on our treatment and had never treated us with the blatant disrespect that the staff had shown us with their angry attitudes, glares and disparaging gossip. I explained that I was taking the time to share this so that he was aware of why they were losing our business and that I didn't feel comfortable or confident in proceeding with our procedures that day. He apologized and we left. Truly horrible experience and treatment. My new dentist says that many patients come to their office with similar stories. Beware

Every person I met in the office was courteous , friendly and professional. They really took the time necessary to do everything right. It had been some time since my last cleaning and Cindy really took her time on my teeth. Great dental experience!

Dr. Peterson knew exactly was wrong with my teeth. Nothing more nothing less. I didn’t have to worry about purchasing extra work for he was exact and to the point. Everyone is really nice there and the service was quick with no hassles. I really enjoy my two new bridges. Thanks Dr. Peterson.

After a bad experience with a different dentist I didn’t know what to expect. I was greeted by warm and friendly staff. I highly recommend Dr. Chang and his staff. Very gentle and open.
