Beyond Expectation Dental

Visited here as a new patient. Dr. Acosta suggested cleaning and fillings. Assistant who did cleaning was not careful with my existing crown and loosened it even after I asked her to be careful with that. I ended up paying them to replace that crown. While undergoing that Acosta adjusted my gums which is not necessary which caused sensitivity issues because of the gap he created between gum and the teeth, which now I have to carefully clean every time I eat something to prevent infections. Also he created unnecessary gaps between teeth while filling, which removed the contact between teeth and caused long term issues for my jaw. I struggled with that for so many months and even when I spoke to Acosta he never listened to me and did what ever he wanted, like redoing the filling and worsening the problem. I went to another dentist and they had to install a crown to fix the issue, which I ended up paying for. All of which was avoidable if Acosta was careful with his treatment and listened to me in the first place. One of his dental assistant was very rude, extremely lazy and was not careful with dental tools. She poked the suction wand in my throat twice when I asked for suction and kept telling me that it's just my saliva and to just swallow it, which may have blood and remnants of epoxy from filling. Dr. Acosta pays more attention to the shows on the screen rather than taking care of his patients during the treatment. He attempted to drill into my teeth without administering the proper anesthetic dose which caused severe pain. Every other dentist I have been to, always check if I can still feel any sensation after administering the anesthetic before proceeding. I would recommend staying away from this dentist. I have not had any dental problems going into the routine checkup and ended up paying for two crowns and multiple adjustments and fillings-none of which were required to start with. Every other dentist I went to after Dr. Acosta did not recommend fillings when looking at same x-rays. I now have to deal with life time of dental issues and more intensive than normal cleaning routine because of the gaps between the gums and my teeth. I can no longer enjoy my food due to extreme sensitivity.

I have been coming to Dr. Acosta for years now and recommend him constantly. I had previously had a wisdom tooth removal and needed the rest done. I went to him because my previous experience was awful so I took a chance. It was night and day. Very considerate, amazing staff, and no pain during or after procedures. If you do have an issue, they hear you and fix it. Also I got a night guard from here for my teeth grinding and that was the best decision ever. I sleep so much better!!! Thank you for everything Dr. Acosta!

Staff was great and friendly but I seriously can’t hold this any longer too. I’ve been in the military for 9 years never had issue with my teeth til I got out not too long ago. I started working for the State of Arizona and I had to find a dentist for routine check ups. Found beyond expectation with good reviews so I went with the reviews. Went in for just cleaning and came out with recommendations that I need fill in done. Now knowing my teeth don’t hurt nor have any pain. I went in for fill in and I’ve came out with pain and I stopped eating with the good side I used to eat with. Dr Acosta didn’t do well on it and it’s been over a year now that I’ve been dealing with the pain. One of my top back tooth’s with no cavity he did grind it down so the one he did fill in on will seat in comfortably. But it’s totally not good and that tooth has been giving me probs til he worked on it. Went to three other dentist after him to try to fix it but they keep wanting to refer me to other places. I seriously don’t want to leave a negative comment here and this is my first after still dealing with this mess. I know when someone is messed up and yes I can honestly say that Dr Acosta messed up on my side of mouth which was good before he even work on it. Now it’s been over a year since he worked on that I can’t even eat with.

Dr. Acosta has been our family dentist for five years. He is professional but friendly; he is knowledgeable and caring. He knows every one of his patients and his staff is efficient, competent and courteous, and the equipment is extremely hygienic. Even the restroom is immaculate. Dr. Acosta has treated my family and I through a wide variety of dental care: basic cleanings, deep cavities, and complicated crown work. Hygienist Liz works so hard our teeth never stop shining. No matter how busy the office is, if a patient is uncomfortable even for a second, Dr. Acosta takes the time to listen, to double check, and to answer questions. Yet even with the vast array of services, the prices are some of the lowest in the valley. Charlie in the front office will even work out insurance and payment plans so that every patient can be helped. Maybe that is how the office chose their name....they are in an unassuming building, with just a small family-friendly feel....yet you receive quality care Beyond your Expectations! Every medical office should function like Dr. Acosta's!

Highly recommend Dr. Acosta and his staff for any dental work needed. I have been going to his office for the past 4 years. Dr. Acosta and his staff are always attentive, friendly and welcoming. All of my questions are answered clearly before any procedures done. I would recommend Dr. Acosta to anyone looking for an honest, friendly doctor and most importantly, a doctor that takes his time to explain with detail each procedure. Thank you Dr. Acosta. This dentist is only looking to charge your insurance and is not there to help the people when they are in need of medical attention. He is more concerned about up selling. What he didn't know is that I had already been to a different dentist prior and was told I could not save the tooth and he tried saying it was savable only because a root canal cost alot more then the cost to take the tooth out. He also said he couldn't do it and would have to be surgical removed after I said no he was like ok I can take it out but will be in 3 weeks (keep in mind that I have already had this pain now for over 3 months and I advised him of this) and he didn't even want to prescribe me pain meds. I don't recommend this dentist at all he is only looking to charge you and your insurance for as much as he can and doesn't care about your well being.
