Professional, friendly, clean office. All of the staff are great with the kids and explain things in an easy to understand way. My kids love coming to the dentist and are always extra motivated after by the new toothbrushes and floss!
Organized, proactive and detailed scheduling staff. Bright, cheery facilities. But what makes this practice really sing is the child-focused approach to care by the dental team. They will really go out of their way to make kids feel comfortable. Kudos and thanks all around.
My toddler loved it so much that after we came home, he was crying “please go back to dentist and wear my sunglasses.” It was his first time, and they did great with him. He was calm, happy, and they were able to clean his teeth really well! Highly recommend!
{First Dental Appointment} I took my little one for their first dental appointment at Arlington Pediatric Dental and we were very impressed. The staff was caring, attentive, and did such a nice job interacting and explaining everything they were doing. We'll be continuing our dental service here!
Appreciate the patience and expertise the doctor and assistant extended to my son. He is kind of scared to anything that done to his month and teeth. Doctor planned 3 months visit instead of 6, to help my son get used to dental cleaning. Thank you!
The office was easy to get to, and scheduling on the phone with the digital assistant was fine. The hygienist did a great job with my 18 month old daughter and saw her fairly quickly. Now for the not as great- They don't have great flow into the office- we got stuck waiting to check in at top of the stairs while trying to follow our daughter around. This was challenging. There were also 3 of us (me, husband and toddler)- not really enough space in the exam room or other areas for us. After the hygienist, we were waiting for over 20 min for the dentist. They had some sort of emergency procedure, which is OK but the dentist didn't apologize. This was also our first visit of my toddler to the dentist ever, and I didn't feel like they cared, wanted to get to know us or explain anything beyond how to brush her teeth. They then asked for whether we saw the dentist and had cavities and it felt like an interrogation about us rather than focusing on our child. We may have come on the wrong day, and maybe 18 months is too young, but i will not be back.
What an excellent pediatric dental office! My 6 year old son had to have 4 fillings done there in 2 separate visits (I know, I know, he finally started flossing) and I was worried that he will be so traumatized by all the drilling that I won’t be able to bring him in for the second visit. However, the first visit went so well that he was excited (!) to go back there again for round 2! They have a TV on the ceiling and they put on his favorite cartoon. They then used a numbing cream on his gum before injecting Novocain so he didn’t feel ANY pain at all. And the drilling was so gentle, that he barely even noticed! He also got a toy at the end so now he thinks it is one of the best places in the world haha. All the doctors are so friendly, professional and explained everything to me in great detail. They are all really great with kids too and try to make it a fun experience for them. I highly recommend this place for the pediatric dental needs!
Our son loves this place! Always great visits, very clean, and kept "NEW", as well as plenty of parking in back lot and on street. Mainly, APD does fair pricing on SDF cavity treatments. Our last office in Brookline charged $75 per cavity spot touch, from the one same SDF pod, and our son had 3 tiny growing cavities at the time. APD charged only $75 per visit. This was the main reason we switched over in 2019, and the problem resolved and we didn't have to continue getting SDF after 2-3 applications or in recent years. Our son, now 9 almost 10 years-old, enjoys coming here and never dredges going to the dentist. They give him googles to wear over his eyes and he can pick what he wants to watch on the individual screen above his chair while they clean and check his teeth. Very pleasant and pampered experience every time. Only wish difficult husband didn't ruin it for us and was easier to deal with overall. But that's another issue on its own entirely. Where to post that review? ...
Unfortunately, Dr. Javedan today refused to provide any future care for our nine year-old son going forward, on the grounds that we declined dental radiographs. As his father and MGH physician, I realize that X-rays pose a non-zero risk, particularly in the setting of a rapidly growing pediatric patient (who, btw, has lost only 4 of his baby teeth so far). I offered to sign any type of waiver accepting the risk of my decision (as I have done so in the past), but Dr. Javedan said this was no longer an option. He defended his position by claiming he needed to strictly abide by his professional society guidelines. I pointed out that medical guidelines are constantly under review, revision, and retraction (ex. baby aspirin for primary prevention of cardiovascular disease, routine use of HRT in menopausal women). As a medical doctor, I believe that blindly following such guidelines irrespective of a patient's or caregiver's preferences offers suboptimal care. Dr. Javedan was not assuaged. When I pointed out that there has been no well-designed prospective randomized control trial showing benefit (not absence of harm) of annual pediatric radiographs, he responded very dismissively. We will be taking our child elsewhere.
As much as kids are not fond of going to the dentist, Arlington pediatric dentistry is the best place to take your kids. Amazing staff and dentists. I wish they saw adults.
