Apex Dental

Thao had me close to tears. She is kind, empathetic, and protective. Searching for a new dentist to get a cleaning, I called Apex Dental and in talking to Thao, I accidentally gave her incorrect insurance information. Based on that, she informed me I wouldn’t be covered there. Damn! I liked her so much already! Disappointed, I told her I’d have to go elsewhere. Instead of hanging up the phone and moving on with her day, Thao gave me some advice on finding a dentist who would take my (supposed) insurance and some additional advice for when I had my appointment with a new dentist. I was so impressed that she cared so much! When we hung up, I called my insurance company to double-check myself and was thrilled to find out that I was wrong about which plan I had. It DOES cover Apex Dental and Dr. Ho! I called Thao again and gave her the great news and we set an appointment for next week. Woo hoo! Shine me up, Thao!

Went in for examination and consultation. Sent me to an out-of-network dentist for root canal who wanted to charge 2,175.00 for root canal, examination, and imaging. There are many dentists in Portland. Seems like they only refer patients to West Coast Endontics for root canals, regardless of whether WCD uses a client's insurance or not. Also did not send X-rays over to the new office. They definitely need to tighten up their game in terms of understanding the client's insurance situation and communication.

My first visit and it was great. I felt so at ease. The front desk was pleasant as well as the dental assistant Audra, I believe she said her name was. She talked me through everything they were doing. Dr Ho was even nice. He carefully explained the plan to me and what to expect next. We'll see how the follow up visit goes.

They will schedule you months out, confirm your appointment the day before, then lie and say that you called to say you didnt need the work done. This place is a joke. My bone is getting eroded, and theyre playing games because clearly THEY messed up. They could have just admitted it. They also tried to bill my insurance for someone else because they either dont pay attention or are into insurance fraud. Just a mess of an office. Which is sad because the dentist himself is really cool. So now, as my bone in the FRONT of my mouth gets more and more eroded, i get to find a new office and go through the whole process again.

I came here after being badly treated at another clinic. I had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday and it was a good experience. Especially because I usually require a higher dose of anesthesia and I was heard when requesting that. The staff was kind also. Would recommend :)
