Anew Dental & Orthodontics

I've been a patient here for the better part of 20yrs and my wife now goes here as well. We're both very good at taking care of our teeth (brushing twice and flossing daily) and neither of us have much of a sweet tooth. Always had a good report and trustworthy experience until my last two or three visits. At my cleaning in March I was told I had a cavity by Dr. Shah and the hygienist working with her. I was a bit surprised, but things happen. However, when I went to get said "cavity" filled I was told my teeth are perfectly fine by a different Dr. and was sent home with an apology. I went back for my next cleaning recently and had Dr. Shah and I believe the same hygienist again. They immediately laid into me about how bad my teeth and gums are and upsold me on some topical medication during. There's no way my teeth are that bad. In September 2023 (the last time before all of this) I was literally told that my teeth were perfect by my hygienist. Nothing in my diet or routine has changed. My wife and I might seek care elsewhere going forward.

The hygienists were courteous and took the time to explain each step of the cleaning process to my children. They were attentive to any concerns we had and provided feedback. I didn't give a higher rating for my initial visit due to the lack of introduction from the doctor who performed the final checkup. During a first visit it's important for a doctor to establish rapport with the patient, especially children, before an examination or discussing their condition with the hygienist. The doctor did not greet us or introduce himself, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Despite this oversight, the hygienists' professionalism and care for my children were commendable.

Called their orthopedic department to see if they had my dental information during a search for new retainers. Rachel and the lady who initially answered my call were able to find my dental records back from when the place I went to used to be called Dental Roots in 2017. They also answered questions and gave me advice about what type of retainers were available and their associated prices. Although I haven’t been to this location or lived in the area for quite some time, they were understanding about my situation and helped me find a solution. Thanks Anew Dental!

I called Anew this morning after an oral surgeon canceled my procedure last minute. I wanted to schedule with a Dentist who I had previously seen elsewhere. The staff were so accommodating, informed me that the dentist was there today and arranged for me to have the tooth extracted as soon as I could arrive. Granted Dr. O’Donovan was certainly the one to approve and assist in making this possible but I truly appreciated showing up and being treated with care and respect from staff I had never met. I am grateful to have had a positive experience and will certainly continue to call Anew my new dentist office for future dental care.

Excluding the nice receptionist I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. Not clean, Head dentist looked like he hated life. the sanitation station was an open bucket with solution inside but open to the elements no cover. The main room I was taken back to was a storage closet everything smooshed together, with a wad of dirty paper towel stuffed in the corner of a window I assume to stop a leak. Just all around a nightmare
